INVENTORY OF STAKEHOLDERS WITHIN THE PITTSBURGH FOOD SHED
This inventory was undertaken by CRAFT in collaboration with the Western Pennsylvania Research Collaborative, the Fayette County Community Action Agency, and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. The objective of the inventory, which includes descriptive and Geo-spatial information about food producers, processors, aggregators, outlets, agricultural input providers, and other service providers as defined below within a 200 mile radius of downtown Pittsburgh, is to provide empirical grounding for future food system analysis and programming around regional food and agriculture. The inventory consists of six data sets and a final report that further defines terms, scope, limitations, and next steps.
We’re currently in the process of reformatting the data and will be releasing the new data sets by state as they become available.
GIS MAPPING - PENNSYLVANIA PRODUCERS AND PROCESSORS
In June 2019, we released our first GIS map of Pennsylvania Producers and Processors within the counties included in our original data inventory project. Mapping was made possible by the Richard King Mellon Foundation.
